Who we are. NeighbourWood Works Ltd ("NeighbourWood", "we") is the controller of your personal data. We're registered in England and Wales, company number 17534853, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. Contact us about your data at hello@neighbourwood.uk.
What we collect. What you give us in a form or an email: your name, email address and phone number, what you tell us about your land, your organisation or your housing needs, and your messages. Please don't send us sensitive information such as health details; we don't need it. We count website visits without cookies and without collecting personal data.
How we use it, and why we're allowed to
| What we do | Our lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Reply to your enquiry and follow it up | Legitimate interests: you've contacted us and expect a reply |
| Explore working together and enter into agreements | Steps before a contract, then the contract itself |
| Send you updates | Your consent, given by ticking the box; you can withdraw it at any time |
| Use the homes register to choose where to build | Legitimate interests; we only analyse postcode districts in aggregate |
| Keep business records | Legal obligation |
Who we share it with. Service providers who act only on our instructions: HubSpot (our contact database, with data stored in the EU), Google Workspace (email) and Google Firebase (website hosting). We may also share it with professional advisers, or with authorities where the law requires. We never sell your data or share it for anyone else's marketing.
Transfers outside the UK. Some of our providers are part of US-based groups. Where your data leaves the UK, it's protected by UK adequacy regulations or by approved contractual safeguards.
How long we keep it. Enquiries: two years after our last contact, then deleted. Homes register and updates: until you ask to leave, and we'll check every two years that you still want to hear from us. If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address on a do-not-contact list, so we never write to you again. Agreements and business records: six years after they end, the period in which legal claims can be made.
Your rights. You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can object to how we use it, and you can always stop marketing. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. We'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy. Please tell us first and we'll try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Do you have to give us your data? No. But we can't reply to you without a way to contact you.
Automated decisions. We don't make decisions about you by automated means.
